1. What she can do for you:

If you have any events, or special releases please tell me! I can share them on our social media accounts, in our monthly newsletter and on our website. I am also always looking for places to host our quarterly networking events and if you would like to host please let me know. Additionally, I update our business directory on our website, if you would like to be added, email me, and I can do that!

2. Favorite part about her job:

My favorite part of my job here at the SODO BIA is planning our quarterly networking events. The events allow me to meet everyone who works in SODO, learn about all the cool/unique businesses here and do what I love – plan events that create community!

3. Favorite place to eat in SODO:

My favorite place for food in SODO is found at the winery Elsom Cellars on 4th Avenue, where they have the Pie Lady! She makes dessert and savory pies that are SO delicious. My favorite is the humble crumble – filled with apples, marionberries, strawberries and raspberries, and topped with streusel.

4. What surprises you the most about SODO?

I am always continually surprised about the vast amount of businesses that start here from the ground up. One of my favorite podcasts is called How I Built This from NPR where the host interviews the founders of different businesses around the United States, such as Whole Foods, Cliff Bar and Soul Cycle and it makes me want to start a business. Every time I meet a business owner in SODO and learn about their company I think they need to be on this podcast, because the hard work they do, combined with their entrepreneurial spirit is very inspiring to me.

5. What do you like to do when you are not working?

I like doing recreation activities! I run/go to the gym, and I take ballet lessons (I started ballet when I was 3 and minored in Dance at UW). I also work on the weekends at Interbay Golf Center, so you can always catch me on the range! When I’m not doing those things, I like to watch sports and shop at Nordstrom.

6. Fun Fact:

When I lived in Washington DC, I worked part time for the Washington Wizards NBA team in the Owners Suite and got paid to sit on the floor with VIP guests any game I worked. One game, a member of the White House attended with a Secret Service agent. I didn’t believe the agent worked for the Secret Service and requested to see identification.
