Staff Spotlight: Cam Orgaard

Originally from the Midwest, Cam found his way to Seattle and has been a resident for 34 years. Cam has had an exciting and varied career from mortgage and Real Estate, regional account development and management for large national chains, to owning a couple local small businesses, all focused on bettering the communities they operated in. He looks forward to taking all the experience gained in those other roles and applying them to his role at the BIA to make the community better for all who work in it and visit.

What were you up to before you started working at the SODO BIA?

Previous to the BIA I have had an adventurous and and varied career of small business ownership, national chain account management and development, to Real Estate and mortgage to name a few.

What brought you to Seattle?

I moved from the Midwest when I was 19 with a friend who had gotten a job with Boeing. I new little of the area, but wanted out of North Dakota. Still here just a few years later.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I am an avid photographer. I get out to see live music as much as I can, and will travel wherever at the slightest suggestion.

Favorite SODO restaurant/bar/cafe?

That a tough one. Let’s say Cafe’ Con Leche, Paseo, Seattle Cider, Seapine Brewing. I’ll stop there.

Favorite SODO activity or point of interest?

Given my love of music, I do see a lot of show at The Showbox!
