SODO Electrical System Work

Seattle City Light plans to replace aging electrical infrastructure in the SODO neighborhood. The work will include replacing aging utility poles, overhead wire and equipment to help upgrade the existing electrical system.

The attached flier is for your reference. Affected customers have received the same information.

Highlights from the flier:

  • Construction is tentative to start in early to mid-June 2017. The entire project is expected to last approximately six months.
  • Daily work hours are Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with possible night and weekend work.
  • Crews will begin replacing utility poles, overhead wire and equipment along 6th Avenue South, 8th Avenue South, South Massachusetts Street and Holgate Street.
  • Crews will reduce traffic and parking impacts by working one area at a time. However, traffic will be restricted and “No Park” signs enforced in work zones. “No Park” signs will be removed once work has been completed.
