Security, Safety and Prevention

 

Safe SODO is dedicated towards resources to preventing crime and improving safety in SODO. Here are our current goals:

 

  • Maintain supplemental services contract with SPD for additional service hours in SODO
  • Conduct a semi-annual crime & safety survey and disseminate results to elected officials/media
  • Develop a community group to guide work on green spaces
  • Facilitate classes, speakers & events on safety issues in SODO
  • Host Community Clean-up Events

Clean, Beautify and Activate

 

Clean SODO is dedicated towards resources to reduce blight associated with illegal dumping, trash and graffiti. Here are our current goals:

 

  • Initiate an ambassador program to provide direct cleaning services
  • Proactively address graffiti through beautification
  • Maintain Contract for street sweeping services to remove debris from SODO streets
  • Maintain contract for full district cleaning and on demand illegal dumping removal
  • Safely manage tailgating
  • Host 2022 Community Clean Up Events
  • Facilitate classes, speakers & events on cleanliness issues in SODO
  • Initiate an ambassador program to provide direct cleaning services
  • Contract for homeless outreach services
